EMMA Ring Size Guide

Our rings are sized using traditional British finger size letters. You can use our guide to help you work out the best size for you.

When an order is placed the piece will be sized specifically for you. By doing this we can ensure you have an item that fits you well, and it is also a way that we can reduce waste.

Because we carefully size each piece, please make sure you have carefully measured your finger before placing an order. If you are ordering a ring with a wide-style band we recommend you go up one size.

Measuring Your Ring Size with a Jeweller

The best way to measure your ring size is to visit a professional jeweller.

We welcome you to arrange to visit our studio in Frome if you are local to us! If you, seek out your local jeweller where they will also be able to measure your size, which is usually a free service.

If possible, we strongly suggest contacting us to arrange popping into our Bristol studio where we can measure your finger, or you can try on our samples. If you do not live near Frome then we suggest heading to your local jewellers where they can also measure your finger size, this is usually a free service.

Measuring Your Ring Size at Home

If you already have a ring that fits well, you can use this to measure your size.

Carefully draw around the inside of the ring, from this you can measure the diameter. Prior to ordering, send this diameter measurement via email to emma@emmaaitchison.com and we will work out your letter size.

Some tips for measuring your ring size at home:

  • Your finger size can change during the day therefore the best time to measure is at the end of the day when your fingers are at their largest.

  • Do not measure when your hands are cold or too hot as your fingers could be up to half a size smaller than usual.

  • A wider band will feel tighter than a narrower band. When purchasing a particularly wide band, we recommend choosing one size up than your usual ring size.

  • Your ring should fit your finger comfortably. It should be snug enough not to fall off, but loose enough to slide over your knuckle with ease.

  • If you’re buying a gift, the best way to establish ring size is to borrow a ring of theirs (from the correct finger) and use our ring measuring guide to determine its size.

Alternatively, Send Us Your Ring!

If you have a ring that fits the same finger you wish to buy for, you are welcome to post it to us prior to ordering. We will work out your size based on this item and then get in touch with you to give our size recommendation. We will then send your jewellery back to you alongside your order.

When posting your item to our studio please ensure you include a note with the following information:

  • Your full name

  • Your return address

  • A contact email address and/or phone number

  • The item you would like to order

Bangle Size Guide

Bangles are sized by diameter. Our bangles come in three sizes, small, medium, and large. You can use our guide to help you work out the best size for you.

When an order is placed the piece will be sized specifically for you. By doing this we can ensure you have an item that fits you well, and it is also a way that we can reduce waste.

Because we carefully size each piece, please make sure you have carefully measured your wrist before placing an order.

How to Measure Your Wrist

1.   Place your fist on a flat surface

2.  With a soft measuring tape, measure the width from the middle of the first knuckle to the middle of your fourth knuckle (you may need someone to help you with this)

3.  Compare your measurement to the following bangle sizing to determine the size that will fit you best

     Small: 62mm inside diameter

     Medium: 67mm inside diameter

     Large: 72mm inside diameter

Measuring a Bangle You Already Own

Place a well-fitting bangle on a sheet of paper. Carefully draw a line around the inner circumference. Measure the diameter of this circumference and compare it to our bangle sizing above to determine the size that will fit you best.

Some tips for measuring your bangle size:

1.  Our hands are often different sizes. Make sure you measure for the wrist you intend to wear the bangle on!

2.  When using the tape measure method be sure to pull the tape measure tightly to get an accurate reading

Resizing

If you receive your ring or bangle and it doesn’t fit well, we do offer a resizing service.

Shipping and labour will be charged.

Please get in touch via emma@emmaaitchison.com to discuss resizing options.
